 "They're still going strong!" 2010-04-05
By DrusL8yK (Seaside, CA)
It's been a few years now since buying this set and they still work like the day we got them! The coating is still perfect, none of the handles are falling off, the lids are still perfect after being dropped on several occasions. For the money, this is a great starter set for both those new to cooking and those who love to cook but need a set that's more economical! You can't go wrong with buying this set!

"Only lasted for 2 of the 10 year 'warrantee'" 2009-06-15
By Fiona Jackson (West Hollywood, CA United States)
I too have experienced problems with the coating wearing off and food sticking. No problems for 2 year, loved the pans! I never used anything sharp or metal, never put them in a dishwasher, never stacked anything in them (they were hung), never heated the pans empty or on full heat, there are no scratches at all, just an over all wearing.

I thought these pans would at least last the length of their warrantee but no where near. Unfortunately I am now in New Zealand and it wouldn't be worth shipping them back to the USA even if I thought for a minute they wouldn't just claim it was my fault. I also have stainless steel All Clad pans purchased at the same time, 6 years ago, and they are still very much like new.

I wouldn't recommend these pans at all. Go for All Clad or another brand entirely.

"Nonstick Coating Wears Off, Company Blames Customer, Voids Warranty" 2009-04-18
By David M. Lyle
I was really happy with this cooking set for a good number of years. So happy, in fact, that the 12" Fry Pan became my favorite cooking pan. As a result the non-stick wore off under the normal course of its lifetime.

I was able to get an RMA for the pan, but it was returned to me with a letter stating that the browning on the pan indicates that it was subjected to overheat and as a result, the pan will not be replaced.

Problem is, there is no browning on the pan, and I've never overheated that pan. It runs at one temp and one temp only on my range and never empty.

Do NOT buy this set if you expect, as I did, that the company will stand behind their product. In fact, I'd stay away from Emerilware, T-Fal, All-Clad and Cephalon as the letter sent to me indicates that they are all the same, extremely non-customer focused, company.

"non-stick coating has worn off" 2009-01-20
By JB (Washington, DC United States)
I've had a set of Emeril cookware for 8 years, and have been happy with it overall until recently, when the two pans that I use the most have begun to lose their non-stick coating. I have never put the pans in the dishwasher, only use plastic utensils, only clean them with a sponge, and never preheat the pans on their own. I've continued to use the pans despite the deterioration of the coating, and one of the pans has now lost almost all of the coating.

So here I am 8 years later without a receipt, and I'm not sure if I can return the pans under warranty or not. At this point I'm not sure if I can even donate them to Goodwill. I'm also concerned that over the years, my family has been consuming this non-stick coating, and I'm not sure that I'd want to get a replacement from the manufacturer anyway. I am in the process of converting to cast iron or le Creuset cookware. I've had some le Creuset pots for over 10 years that I use quite frequently, and they are still good as new.

This is a nice set of cookware, but if you're looking for something that "lasts a lifetime" as I was, I don't think this is it.

 "Money Well Spent" 2010-10-17
By jj
I waited a long time for a nice SS set that would not cost me a fortune to own. Saw the 14 piece on TV but it was out of stock and found the 10 piece set a a local department store. Other than the small fry pan tilting slightly I have really enjoyed using the set. Listened to Emeril in his presentation and did not use high heat. Medium to medium high heat is sufficient. I have cooked fish in the fry pan and it turned out wonderful, no sticking and no burning. I have been using a non stick set for too many years and it is getting to the stage where it is no longer non stick so I couldn't be happier to get some new stainless.

I have made rice in the 2 qt pot and had no problem with its doneness or too much liquid escaping from the lid. It was a packaged seasoned rice and it was done according to the directions. I have used both fry pans, the saute pan and both saucepans and cleanup is easy. A little of the barkeeper's friend and spots are gone. The weight is just right and you do not have to worry about handling pots with both hands.

I am hoping to find some open stock for this set so that I may add a few more pieces. It does not disappoint and I am happy with the purchase. The tilting 8" fry pan is the only reason for the 4 star rating.

"Great Pans after 2 years" 2010-10-16
By A. Chipps (Nebraska)
I have owned the Emeril cookware set for almost 2 years now. I bought them because they are made by All-Clad and when I picked them up in a store they felt like what I wanted. I had researched cookware for 2 months and was originally set on buying a Rachael Ray set, so I ended up buying this Emeril set in a local store kind of on impulse. They have been GREAT. I use all of the pieces, they are super easy to clean (use BarKeeper's Friend!) I do not use the 2 small fry pans very much because I had bought 2 Calphalon anodized fry pans before I bought this set. I do recommend complimenting this set with something like that. But, when I have used the fry pans I haven't had problems. Except the smallest one tipping if there is nothing in it, which really isn't a deal breaker for me. Hope this review helps someone out there! (By the way, I am a 26 year old housewife and Mom to 2 so they are used frequently!)

"do not buy or use. danger bottom of pot splits off" 2010-08-03
By R. Goodman
I have had this set of pots for 2 years and have loved them. My daughter used The fry pan to cook sausage and she heard a loud explosive noise, the pan jumped and she smelled something burning. The pan was lop sided and she finally saw that the bottom layer of the pan , the part that is added for quick heating, had separated from the pot around half of the pot. I could not believe it when I saw it, I went on line to see if this had happened to anyone else. I found many many other people reporting the same thing and worse. Sometimes the whole bottom fell off when lifted up, some people report a melted metal leaking from bottom. Please look for reviews and complaint on these before you purchase. This is very dangerous and I will no longer use any of this set. I was on here looking for a new set of pans and saw the review on this was good and had to let people know about the problem with these pans.

"Great set for the money" 2010-06-24
By David Scott (FAIRPORT, NEW YORK, US)
This was my first set of SS cook wear after years of cheap non-stick pots and pans from different manufacturers and I'm sorry I waited so long.

The saucepan, as well as both fry pans, require far less heat to get the job done. The "brown bits" left after cooking fish, chicken or steak allow me to make a flavorful sauce with these dishes I could never do with non-stick.

Clean-up is easy and the pans look brand new after a wash and some Bar Keepers Friend. The bottoms of the pans heat evenly and I haven't had any "hot spots" on the cooking surface that would cause problems with my old set.

I've had to experiment a little with the correct heats to keep fish from sticking. Once I learned where I needed to be, sticking no longer was an issue.

The saucepan has a pouring lip and the glass lid has holes in the rim to allow for straining of pasta after cooking which eliminates the need to use (and dirty) a strainer. I've gone from stove top to oven with fish and steak and had terrific results. I've only had one instance where I forgot to use an oven mitt for the handle - that was enough to help me remember next time.

Another nice little feature is liquid measurements etched into the inside wall of the saucepans so if your recipe requires a certain amount of liquid, you can just measure with the pot instead of dirtying a measuring cup.

Overall, I have found nothing to complain about and find myself cooking more than ever just to use the set. I wish I had bought them years ago.

"The most BAM for your buck!!" 2010-04-12
By B. Davis
I have had the 10 piece set for a little over a month now, and I can honestly say I love it! And let me tell you, I cook ALL the time - 7 days a week, and at least 2-3 meals a day. So figure I have used these pots/pans at least 60 times by now. I have cooked everything from rice to steaks to vegetables, soups, pastas, sauces, and even things as delicate as eggs! The bottom heats very evenly, and quickly, and the handles DO NOT get hot, which was very surprising for me. Before I purchased, I was willing to accept the fact that I was more than likely going to have to deal with hot handles, as is the case with most stainless steel cookware, but with these I was pleasantly surprised. Even after being on the stove over high heat for a long period of time, the handles are still cool! But that is not to be confused with the handles on the lids - I find that the handles on the lids may become very warm after prolonged exposure to heat, but that it is generally to be expected if lid handles are not rubber coated, but that doesn't bother me in the least.

To me, the weight of each individual piece of cookware is just perfect - heavy enough to feel sturdy and durable, but light enough for me to comfortably lift and move them with one hand while cooking (assuming I don't have something heavy in them). That is something that was very important when considering cookware. I know a lot of people say "the heavier, the better, because that means it is better quality"...but seriously, I don't want to have to use 2 hands and develop forearms like Popeye just to lift a pan from one burner to another. Yeah, I need something durable and practical, and this set is it for me.

To the person saying that the lids do not fit correctly, I have had no problems with rice(or steaming vegetables and such)cooking properly. From my experience, the lids keep the moisture in very well.

And to anyone who has never owned a stainless steel cookware set, and is hesitating because of the "NOT non-stick" factor - here is a tip that converted me to stainless steel forever - heat the SS pan directly on the burner, and get it nice and hot - to the point where if you put a drop or two of water directly in the pan, it will bead up and dance and glide around bottom. When it gets to that point, remove from the heat source, (or you can turn down the heat while it is still on the burner, but it will take longer), and let it cool off slightly - enough to where it wouldn't burn butter if you added it. Return back to the burner and turn heat down to medium(more or less, depending upon what you are cooking), add your butter/oil, and whatever you are cooking, and Voila! - non-stick! It has to do with getting the pan getting so hot that the heat causes the metal to microscopically expand and fills up the tiny pores in the steel that food would normally sink into while cooking (sticking). But then you have to to turn it down to your actual cooking temp so things do not burn, and while doing so, the steel will remain expanded until the pan is completely cooled. That is advice passed on from experienced, professional chefs.

Anyway, overall, this set is beautiful, functional, and of great quality. Even "if" this set wears out in 10 to 30+ years down the road, I will definitely be buying another one.

"All we Need for Enjoyment" 2010-08-09
By John N. Schear (Roanoke, Virginia United States)
Four pots with covers and two pans will usually be all many households need. Sure exceptions can be noted but for the most part this is a full set for preparing a complete meal with some to spare. Having a cookware set that is stainless steel was a priority in selecting this set and it was a fine priority. The set is indeed stainless and the steel has held up with significant wear. Adding to the enjoyment of using this set is its having a bottoms that spread the heat evenly. A few old pots had areas on the bottom that would permit uneven heat and cause scalded or otherwise poorly cooked items. Not these gems. They are perfect. Unlike heavy cast iron or some fancy cast metals with enamel paints these pots and pans are lightweight and make cooking easier. After using for some time these are a few scratches on the insides of the pots but I take full responsibility for that and to me it is no big deal. When the interior gets a little too dirty (relative word) I use a BarKeepers or BonAmi type cleanser and the pot is almost brand new.

Great set and well worth the money.

"DANGER!!! I CUT MY FINGER WASHING A PAN" 2010-06-08
By Bombay Blue Eyes
I just want to warn everyone that these pots and pans have very sharp edges and I just cut my finger on an edge while washing a pan. I want to return the set as I consider them too dangerous to use. I spent about $150 on the set and think it was pretty much a waste of money. My advice is to check the edges of cookware before buying...I just went by the pictures on the box and couldn't tell how sharp the edges were...I'm surprised there isn't a recall....this is a safety issue!

 "Easy clean-up?" 2010-04-07
By Just peachy (Florida)
I just purchased the 10-piece Emeril Lagasse stainless steel set because they were made by All-Clad, had glass lids and pouring spouts. I did worry about clean-up but I was tired of using the non-stick pans that always get scratched up.

I used a lower heat setting and a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking but I did notice that the pans were darkening. And I found them very difficult to clean. However, someone has suggested using Bartender's Friend (available at the grocery store ) and a soft scrub cloth and I'm hoping that will bring the pans back to their original lustre.

"Cleaning tips - Pro clad" 2010-03-18
By Ms. Sandra L. Chamberlin
I bought a 10 pcs set of Emeril Pro-Clad to replace by Revere ware set that was 25 years old. I love the design and feel and the see thru glass tops. After the first use of a sauce pan and of a frying pan, there was discoloration. I tried cleaning it with dish soap and a sponge, then with steel wool. Neither worked. I called the manufacturer and they told me that discoloration due to heat is common at first use. They told me to get Bartender's Friend scouring powder and use a Scotch Brite Dobie pad. It was miraculous. My pans look brand new and sparkling. This stuff also worked on my stainless pots from India that were horribly brown on the bottoms. And my stainless steel sink looks great too.

I am so glad that my new pans look gorgeous again. Thank you Emeril!

I just want to say how extremely disappointed I got when my food started sticking to bottom of the large frying pan. I'm unable to even fry eggs in a morning, they stick to the bottom!!!!! Who would've though that Emeryl's product would be such a poor quality! I'm even more disappointed because I threw away my old frying pans right after I got this set, without even testing it first, so now I have to buy more pans. Not at all recommend this product! Not sure how people can be satisfied with this set, maybe they never owned a nice set of pans before and don't know what a $200 pan set should be like.

I'm very pleased with the Emerilware Hard Anodized 14-Piece Cookware Set. Food cooks evenly and quickly. Use as recommended on low to medium heat, the food won't stick. It cleans up very easily. I would highly recommend it. One caveat, the metal handles get hot, so handle carefully with a pot holder.

By Wylie Coyote (North Carolina USA)
This cookware is a joy to work with. It distributes the heat evenly across the entire borrom surface allowing for preparing food without hot spots cooking differently than other areas.

If there is one thing I can fault it would be that this cookware is not dishwasher safe, and it recommended that they be cleaned in your sink.

I suppose this is because the non-stick coating could be damamged by any chlorine in dishwaser detergents.

This is not a big problem, as cleanup is a snap without using the dishwaher.

I highly recommend this cookware.

 "Best pans ever!" 2009-09-21
By Elaine Brown (Broken Arrow, OK)
These pans are so great. I have used plenty of other people's pans and these beat them all. They're not really heavy, they feel good to use fit your hands and all for moving, pouring, picking up, etc. The lids are all great and fit different pans through-out the set. The pans are fantastic and clean so easily, you can just use a scrub brush and barely touch them and they'll wash right up every single time. They're the best pans I've ever seen. Wouldn't even take one of those 5,000.00 free sets over my Emerils because they're better. Wish there were two sauce pans in the set, seem to always need another one and don't ever have it. :) Make sure you use oven mits when you pick up the pans the handles get really hot and I've cooked about 75% of everything on high and never burnt my pans or torn them up or anything. I've had 'em since 2005. :) And they're waaaaaaaay sturdier and better than any of the cheap sets far as I'm concerned the best set out there.

"Great cooking results, takes getting used to" 2008-05-03
By Trip Like I Do (USA)
It's truly non-stick if you use it the right way. There's usually no need to bring the stove setting higher than medium high. This sort of cookware takes a bit longer to heat up but once its at proper temperature it cooks really well - evenly, thoroughly with really great results. After you use this cookware a few times, you realize that well made cookware really does matter. One internet commentator recommended testing for the right temperature with a few drops of water - sizzle means just right, and splatter means too hot. They're not as durable as cheap cookware, meaning you can't abuse them and expect them to last. They're sort of like fine instruments that you have to take care not to overheat - which damages them - or to mar the surface with harsh abrasives or cleansers - which apparently can ruin the cookware.

"Quality Cookware for a Great Price!" 2010-04-03
By Andrea R. (Plano, Texas, USA)
There are no words to describe how pleased I am with my new cookware. It is so much fun to cook again now that I have purchased this set!

Prior to my purchase, I did a lot of research on cookware to make the best choice for my cooking needs and my budget. I definitely made the right choice by purchasing this set.

So far, the performance of this cookware has been outstanding. Heating and boiling are much quicker than with my previous non-stick set (Calphalon), and the cooking is much more even.

My favorite part about this set is that there are pour spouts on some of the pans, and measurement markings inside of them as well. A couple of the lids have strainers, so if you are cooking something that needs to be drained (like pasta or vegetables), it's a one-pot job.

Even though this cookware claims to be oven-safe up to 550 degrees (lids to 350), I have not yet put any of the pans in the oven. Obviously, handles will be too hot without using oven mitts if you are going to cook in the oven, but as far as stovetop cooking goes, my experience has been that the handles remain cool to the touch.

I have seen a couple of negative reviews (on other websites) about some of the pots melting. There is a care sheet that comes with the cookware explaining that the pans can melt IF you place an empty pot on a hot stove for an extended period of time. There are plenty of other helpful tips included on the care sheet. In order to get the most out of your Emerilware, I suggest you read the instructions carefully. They are included for a reason.

I am also very pleased that this cookware comes with a lifetime warranty, and All-Clad will repair or replace defective cookware (excluding damage from misuse or abuse).

This cookware is prone to water spots when running them through the dishwasher, but the spots are easily removed by using a soft cloth and some Bar Keeper's Friend. That stuff is incredible. Get some after you purchase your Emerilware.

Get this cookware - it's awesome. You won't regret it.

"Good low end, but lids won't seal" 2010-02-21
By Master Po (Indianapolis, IN)
A friend and I both purchased a set of these. I thought the quality was pretty good for the price. These are basic stamped steel with a nice disk on the bottom. They won't heat up the sides well because they are thin stainless, but the bottom does delivers nice even heat. My dishes have come out better with these pans because my old set was really cheap, and because these heat more evenly.

The main flaw I've seen is that the pour spouts are too deep and not sealable with the lid, preventing you from being able to seal in steam. I have made rice many times, but a lot of steam escapes. It is impossible to seal no matter which way you turn the lid. So the pour spouts are not designed well and the lids with straining holes are only for looks since if you went to pour out some liquid it would go between the lid and the sauce pan anyway. So for the same price, I would try the Emeril set without the pour spouts (pro-clad), the wearever cook and strain set (less than half the price I think), or the wal-mart tramontina set, or pay more and get a fully clad set. I like the glass lids so you can see whats going on, but plan to donate the saucepans to goodwill and buy a nice sealable sauce pan by wearever cook and strain, Tramontina (wal-mart) or All-Clad.

Pros: good construction for price, nice disk on bottom delivers even heat, attractive, I like them much better than my previous set and I like them better than teflon, even though I was used to teflon. They really don't stick as bad as I imagined, and if they do you can scrape with a metal spatula or spoon!

Cons: the lids will not seal on saucepans so its not as easy to cook rice or steam veggies, and its not fully clad. If only the pour spouts were shallower I would give it 5 stars but the pro-clad emeril set seems better for the same price.

"DO NOT BUY! SAVE YOUR MONEY!" 2010-03-17
By Victoria (Baltimore, MD)
I just want to say how extremely disappointed I got when my food started sticking to bottom of the large frying pan. I'm unable to even fry eggs in a morning, they stick to the bottom!!!!! Who would've though that Emeryl's product would be such a poor quality! I'm even more disappointed because I threw away my old frying pans right after I got this set, without even testing it first, so now I have to buy more pans. Not at all recommend this product! Not sure how people can be satisfied with this set, maybe they never owned a nice set of pans before and don't know what a $200 pan set should be like.

 "I f I could give this a negative I would..." 2010-01-29
By iamdavinci
These pans are horrible. Nothing cooks right and everything sticks to the bottom of the pans - if your boiling it seems okay but that is all. Plus when cleaning you risk the chance of cutting yourself on the pans which I have done many times and I just cut my thumb just a few minutes ago washing the edges clean. These pans are horrible and if I could have given them a negative I would have. Emeril you put your name on these pans - you are nothing but a money hungry sloth. Careful thought should be given when making a purchase. Keep it in the good old USA - BUY USA MADE PRODUCTS!
