 "Great Gift!" 2010-02-01
By J. R. Braithwaite
I purchased this knife set through a bridal registry. The bride & groom have since given these knives rave reviews! I would recommend this knife set.

"Quality Knives, High Price, Rust Easily" 2010-01-31
By Sam Jennings (Bridgewater, NJ USA)
These knives may be sharp and the block is nice; however, they tend to rust really easily. I wouldn't trust others with handling these knives unless they plan on washing and drying them soon after use. Also, most of the knives are serrated. I would have preferred at least another chopping blade. The steak knives make up the majority of the price, which is disappointing. I bought these knives at the regular price, which I would not recommend, but buying them on sale may make the purchase feel a lot better.

 "sleek and sexy knives" 2010-01-26
By H. Cho (Arcata, CA)
can't ask for anything better. like others, i bought this set because it's left-hand friendly. for 42$ bucks, no complaints here.

"BEEN A FEW YEARS STILL USING" 2009-11-06
By leo (texas)
I HAVE HAD THIS SET FOR A FEW YEARS AND I LOVE THEM. I AM A ROUGH COOK == THROW THE POT HERE THROW THE POT THERE, COOK IT TILL IT BURNS THROW IT IN THE SINK AND THESE POTS CAN TAKE IT. BELIEVE ME IF YOU SAW ME COOK YOU WOULD SAY THEY ARE GREAT.. EASY TO CLEAN

"Only lasted for 2 of the 10 year 'warrantee'" 2009-06-15
By Fiona Jackson (West Hollywood, CA United States)
I too have experienced problems with the coating wearing off and food sticking. No problems for 2 year, loved the pans! I never used anything sharp or metal, never put them in a dishwasher, never stacked anything in them (they were hung), never heated the pans empty or on full heat, there are no scratches at all, just an over all wearing.

I thought these pans would at least last the length of their warrantee but no where near. Unfortunately I am now in New Zealand and it wouldn't be worth shipping them back to the USA even if I thought for a minute they wouldn't just claim it was my fault. I also have stainless steel All Clad pans purchased at the same time, 6 years ago, and they are still very much like new.

I wouldn't recommend these pans at all. Go for All Clad or another brand entirely.

"Nonstick Coating Wears Off, Company Blames Customer, Voids Warranty" 2009-04-18
By David M. Lyle
I was really happy with this cooking set for a good number of years. So happy, in fact, that the 12" Fry Pan became my favorite cooking pan. As a result the non-stick wore off under the normal course of its lifetime.

I was able to get an RMA for the pan, but it was returned to me with a letter stating that the browning on the pan indicates that it was subjected to overheat and as a result, the pan will not be replaced.

Problem is, there is no browning on the pan, and I've never overheated that pan. It runs at one temp and one temp only on my range and never empty.

Do NOT buy this set if you expect, as I did, that the company will stand behind their product. In fact, I'd stay away from Emerilware, T-Fal, All-Clad and Cephalon as the letter sent to me indicates that they are all the same, extremely non-customer focused, company.

"non-stick coating has worn off" 2009-01-20
By JB (Washington, DC United States)
I've had a set of Emeril cookware for 8 years, and have been happy with it overall until recently, when the two pans that I use the most have begun to lose their non-stick coating. I have never put the pans in the dishwasher, only use plastic utensils, only clean them with a sponge, and never preheat the pans on their own. I've continued to use the pans despite the deterioration of the coating, and one of the pans has now lost almost all of the coating.

So here I am 8 years later without a receipt, and I'm not sure if I can return the pans under warranty or not. At this point I'm not sure if I can even donate them to Goodwill. I'm also concerned that over the years, my family has been consuming this non-stick coating, and I'm not sure that I'd want to get a replacement from the manufacturer anyway. I am in the process of converting to cast iron or le Creuset cookware. I've had some le Creuset pots for over 10 years that I use quite frequently, and they are still good as new.

This is a nice set of cookware, but if you're looking for something that "lasts a lifetime" as I was, I don't think this is it.

"weight matched for easy handling" 2008-12-20
By Bert A. Kitzman (baytown, texas)
It may be odd , but the handles seem weight matched to the rest of the cookware. I am pleased with the purchase. I found that my sister has a set like it only she preferred stainless.

"Didn't ship one of the knives!" 2010-01-30
By Jessica C. Luttrell (austin, tx)
Knives were fine except they didn't ship the pearing knife. And I tried to dispute it but it wouldn't let me unless I returned the whole thing. Ridiculous.

 "It feels like home!" 2009-11-14
By D. Klinkenberg (MN)
If you have never used this knife before you will be amazed!

I owned on prior but during a divorce my ex hid the knifes the day I moved out, knowing they were my favored item in the kitchen. These knifes are now replaced. they are perfect and once you get a handle on the capabilities of this knife the possibilities are endless! For me it makes my kitchen feel more like home.

They are not weird to hold, they are extremly sharp and they have a fliud shape to them this is a way awesome product! They are very comparable to the Cutco brand!

 "Exceeded my expectations" 2009-05-08
By Firelock1776
I bought this knife set to replace a cheap set we received as a wedding gift 16 years ago. This set makes the old one look like a toy. The construction of the knives is very solid, from the metal handles to the blades. They cut wonderfully. With the ladles, extra knives, and such this set is also quite a bargain.

 "Ginsu knives" 2009-01-28
By Emily Cardin (New Hampshire)
I love these knives, they work so well.

Very durable. They are extremely sharp,

I love the design of the knives and

the block. They would look great in

any kitchen.

 "Great knife set" 2009-01-20
By Anand Vijayachandran (Phoenix, AZ)
Pros: This knife set is really good. The blades are all sharp and cuts through fruits and vegetables seamlessly. The large knife is good for meat (tried on chicken).

Cons: The knife is not dishwasher safe and needs to be cleaned and dried immediately after use.

 "Excellent Gift!" 2009-12-29
By Kim (USA)
I had no idea what to get my mother in law this year for Christmas, so I picked this up for her. She seemed quite impressed. I did warn her that other reviews claim all the pieces will never fit back in the holder and she seemed ok with that. I don't know if she has used it yet, but I can tell you it sure looks nice, high quality, and impressive. I have thought about buying myself a set!

 "Garbage tool set" 2009-07-02
By R. Malinowski (Buffalo, NY)
This was over priced and very poor quality. The tools are flimsy and don't fit very nice in the holder. If you like quality keep looking.

 "top notch kitchen tools" 2008-12-28
By Peggy Jentoft (La Mirada, Ca United States)
These are well worth the money. the Pizza cutter and the plane grater are especially useful. The kitchen tools in this set are all great! good grips indeed! We got these because we have arthritis and have trouble using some kitchen tools, These are easy to hold and use, good looking, and are quite well built. They do what they are made to do well without requiring much effort. We are going to buy more stuff from Oxo. My kids want sets of their own for when they move out. It is a little hard to fit all the gadgets back in the bucket as neatly as they arrived.

Update: I've had these for a year now and they are all still in excellent condition and work superbly! the peeler is the bet we have ever had I had given up peeling potatos but have no trouble now. The can opener is also excellent we all are very happy with these tools

 "Great set for price..." 2008-08-26
By Amelia F. Walton (Columbus Ohio)
I'm an OXO fan and haven't been disappointed yet by their products. I love this set and thought that it had all the basics (throw in a jar spatula, a ladle and a cheap-o wooden spoon and you're set to go.) My one complaint (if you can call it that) is that it is a bit cramped with everything in there. But that's an easy problem to fix...I just took some of my lesser-used tools (pizza cutter, potato masher, grater, etc) and put them in the drawer. A snap to clean and looks sharp in my kitchen. This would be a great gift for a housewarming or wedding.

"Awsome Tools kind Ify bucket" 2008-06-15
By SGT MLW (Stuttgart Germany)
I was impressed with Oxo tools to begin with, that is what attracted me to this product. I love every piece i this kit but I'm not so sure i love the messiness of putting them away! Unless you want to spend the time to make it nice and neat every time you take something out or put t back in it get mixed up and not very neat looking! that is my only complant and its really not mine its my wifes! All in all i like it and am happy with my purchase! ~MLW

 "Great knife" 2009-02-12
By Renae (North Dakota)

Great quality knife and cutting board. I've used it multiple times and love how it slices right through multiple types of bread, bagels, english muffins, etc. Great price for this brand of knife as well. Cutting board is very sturdy and perfect size for a smaller counter.

 "not good-not bad" 2008-12-03
By Rob Edwards (Oklahoma)
Several years ago my wife and I purchased a set of Emerilware cookware and loved the quality. Skip ahead to today and I find the names Emerilware and Wusthof in the same product, this must be another great item. As it turns out the Emerilware items are not the same quality they once were and this line of knives lacks quality and I am shocked they let the name Wusthof be used to sell them. The cutting board is Wusthof quality but the knife is not. The good news is that I purchased this as a Gold Box deal and for that price I am fine with the purchase but would not have wanted to pay the full retail on this item.

"Buy as a starter only" 2008-09-17
By Zachary P. Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
The knife feels cheap in your hand, it is not what you expect from Wusthof. My cutting board warped within two months and now is nearly unusable. Spend some more money and get a better product.

 "Fine at reduced price" 2008-09-07
By J. Offenbach (N VA)
At $40, pass on this pair, but at about half that cost, you'll be very pleased. The size of the board was no surprise to me, as I looked at its image compared to the image of the knife. The knife is just fine for bread, which is what it's sold for. If you're looking for a carving knife, make another selection. Need a paring knife? Not this one. Bread knife? Yep, this is it. I also use it for tomatoes and cake. The only knife I own that I run through the dishwasher.

 "Serves its purpose" 2008-08-10
By N. Boyce (Massachusetts)
Bought this and the similar chef's knife set on a 1-day sale; this one, at least, was a decent deal.

Knife is v. sharp (at least for now), but not sturdy; fine for bread. Board is oddly shaped, long and narrow, but again, fine for bread.

On sale for $20, it's a good light-duty knife. At $39.99, not so much.
