"Great Value Priced Peeling Knife" 2008-01-08
By David Ross (Rochester, NY USA)
I purchased this knife as part of a 3 knife set. It has an unusual reverse or hooked point and is sometimes called a bird's beak peeler. It is useful for removing thin skins from fruits for example. I am very happy with my set in use, looks and durability. These Emerilware by Wusthof knives are light weight yet sturdy and well designed. More expensive knives forged knives would have stiffer blades and be more durable however. I don't expect a set of knives in this price range to last a lifetime (despite the warranty) but they are clearly holding up fine for me over six months use.

The Emerilware by Wüsthof 3-Piece Paring Set is a good value if you want all three knives and the other two knives are available individually as well. Both the set and individual knives have been available with Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion.

I purchased this for a gift for my daughter. She says that this knife

 "Really? It's a 3 1/2." 2009-04-29
By L. Simpson (Frederick, MD United States)
I wasn't thrilled with this purchase. The box it came in was HUGE because the knife packaging is so long, too long. It was my first "really good knife" purchase. I thought it would be a little lighter, and even sharper. Then again I wasn't aware that those "really, really, really good knives" are super expensive. So, I guess I got what I paid for. Perhaps you're paying a little more for this just for the Emeril label.

"smaller and lighter than expected" 2008-01-27
By Gregory A. Tomsich (St. Paul)
This knife is not my favorite. As a former culinary professional I prefer a knife with more weight and a heavier blade. I use it more as a utility knife than a chefs knife. It does keep a sharp edge and is easy to keep clean. Probably a good choice if you have small hands or like a small, light knife.

"Emerilware by Wusthof Knifes are the best!" 2008-01-19
By Carol Easley
The Emerilware by Wusthof 6" Knife is wonderful. It is the perfect size for most cutting needs, fits the hand nicely, and is a very high quality product. I recommend all of the Wusthof knifes and products. I will buy them again and I do recommend them.

 "Another great knife!" 2007-03-09
By Disney-ite (Davenport, Florida)
As with the others in Emeril's knife collection, this is wicked sharp and fits my hand perfectly. Might be my favorite of the three paring knives.

"Knife & cutting board review" 2009-01-19
By P. Lawrence (Texas, USA)
I am very satisfied with the carving knife and bamboo cutting board set and would highly recommend it. This is the first time I have bought a Wustof carving knife and it is far more efficient and sharper than carving knives I have bought in the past. It is a pleasure to carve with it. The cutting board has a very dense smooth surface and is light and easy to use and clean.

"You get what you pay for" 2008-08-10
By N. Boyce (Massachusetts)
Even at $20, this is pretty cheesy. Board is nice, but oddly long and narrow. The knife is junk, which is a little surprising; I've found "emerilware" to be decent quality in the past (low-end, but decent). Definitely a miss.

 "great item" 2008-08-03
By E. J. Frohrip (Connecticut)
the board is a little small, but fine for my needs. The knife is terrific! - sharp, easy to use and elegant.

"Don't be misled by the Wusthof name. " 2008-07-11
By Sue B. (Speedway, IN United States)
I was disappointed in the quality of the knife -- thin, flexible blade. And the board is so small that it really is useless to me. There are much better knives at this price point ... including OXO, Victronox and Anolon. Don't let the Wusthof name fool you. Don't let the Emeril name fool you either.

I gave it three stars because the price was right -- $14. Look for it soon at Big Lots.

I returned this item without hesitation.

 "Good knife, good deal" 2008-12-03
By Pigskins (Webster, NY USA)
Not as sturdy as I thought it would be. The handle is lightweight plastic, doesn't feel solid like you think a Wusthof would. Blade is flexible too. The package was labeled sandwich slicer and I can see why. BUT, I did use it for this past Thanksgiving and it was great. Nice feel to it and because it's new, it cut through everything the turkey had to offer. I can see using this to carve ham, roasts, etc. It will become my #1 knife to do those things, so for that, it does what it advertises and does it well.
