I own this set of Emerilware and am very pleased with them. Although I have only had them about 6 months, I use them on an almost daily basis and they have held up beautifully. I have fried eggs with no oil at all at times and they refuse to stick to the surface of the pans (but I do recomend still using a small amount of oil.) I have also dripped melted cheese in the pans and it washes right off. I admit that I do follow the manufacture's recomendations of hand washing the pots and pans, but it's no real big deal. About my only complaints about the set are these:
1. You can't use metal utensils in the pots and pans. This is a problem for me because I do a lot of wisking and I had to go out and buy a nylon wisk which does'nt work as well as a metal one. Also I like to use a fork to break up ground beef when cooking it. I have still been doing this but I have noticed that the fry pan is starting to show scars from using a metal fork, but the non-stick surface has yet to show any signs of peeling away. It's still as "non-stick" as the day I bought them.
2. The bottoms of both the skillets have some kind of reddish-brown stains on them that I can't scrub off no matter what I use. But I figure that I'm not cooking food on the bottoms so it's no big deal. It just gives them that "well used" look. LOL
3. The handles are a little narrow, and they tend to get slippery when they get water or grease on them, making them a little difficult to hold when draining off grease or water or just dumping food out of the pans. It's no real problem for me but it might be a major consideration for someone who has weak hands or wrists. (I have solved the problem by using potholders even though the handles generally stay cool when used on the stovetop.)
4. The glass lids are great if you are cooking something which you have to watch, but they are a real bear to keep clean. Although the pans themselves are supposed to be hand washed, the glass lids are dishwasher safe and that is the way I recommend washing them. There is a very narrow gap between the metal bands around the lids and the glass itself that grease has a way of getting into, and is almost impossible to clean out by hand. That is why I recommend washing the lids in a dishwasher. It can steam the grease or whatever, out of that gap.
Other then these few complaints, I would say that this is a great set of cookware.
