I have one similar that I paid $79 for and it is a bit heavier, but honestly, the Emeril one which I paid less than $30 for works just as well. Emeril Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 12-Inch Fry Pan Set

If you want a non-stick fry pan that lasts, from a company that stands behind their LIFETIME non-stick guarantee, you don't want this pan or anything from Emeril. I had the Emeril 12" nonstick fry pan for about 2 years. I followed ALL of the care instructions to the letter, but it became a gummy mess that everything stuck to. I returned it for a new pan under their lifetime guarantee, and was surprised when they returned my old pan suggesting that I hadn't followed their care instructions. I even called a manager to no avail. This pan was babied. If you get anything non-stick, get a Calphalon. I also had an 8-year old Calphalon non-stick fry pan that I returned at the same time as the Emeril. Calphalon sent me a new pan with a sample of their suggested cleaning product. The Calphalon lasted four times as long as the Emeril, and Calphalon stood behind their lifetime warranty. I threw the Emeril in the trash and went out and bought another Calphalon.

I tried cutting veggies and meat and I found myself digging in the drawer for a different knife. I purchased this knife as part of a 3 knife set. It has an unusual reverse or hooked point and is sometimes called a bird's beak peeler. It is useful for removing thin skins from fruits for example. I am very happy with my set in use, looks and durability. These Emerilware by Wusthof knives are light weight yet sturdy and well designed. More expensive knives forged knives would have stiffer blades and be more durable however. I don't expect a set of knives in this price range to last a lifetime (despite the warranty) but they are clearly holding up fine for me over six months use.



The Emerilware by Wüsthof 3-Piece Paring Set is a good value if you want all three knives and the other two knives are available individually as well. Both the set and individual knives have been available with Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion.

This knife is not my favorite. As a former culinary professional I prefer a knife with more weight and a heavier blade. I use it more as a utility knife than a chefs knife. It does keep a sharp edge and is easy to keep clean. Probably a good choice if you have small hands or like a small, light knife.
