If you grill steaks at home, these steak knives are just great ... honestly, GREAT!
Keep this in perspective now, these are stamped high carbon stainless, not forged. So they aren't a fine knife like the Shun. And they are STEAK knives, not general purpose kitchen knives, so don't expect them to cut through a tin can or a frozen boot or concrete block or anything like that. They aren't even intended to be used in the kitchen at all. They are for table use .. to cut a STEAK. But that being said, these are great steak knives.
The handles ... are large, and comfortable even for a big man's hands. The grips are black plastic and slightly rubberized for a good grip. They have a nice inset for the index finger, they are long enough that your pinky doesn't fall off the end, and the handle thickness is large enough for a man's hand .. A+
The blades ... are also larger than your average steak knife. They are longer (almost 5 inches) wider (not the pencil thin blade of your cheaper knife, but more like the width of a steakhouse knife) And they are thicker as well, so if you use it to support a porterhouse as you transfer it from the platter to your plate, it won't bend at all. A+
The edge and point .. are also the best. The edge is half serrated and half smooth with the serrated part from mid blade to the tip. It employs a reverse serration, a gentle scallop which actually cuts the steak as you draw it through without shredding it. And it is sharp ... VERY. The point is not rounded ... no concessions to children here. The point is just that ... a POINT which is sharp and great for excising fat or gristle. And the material is a stamped (not forged) high carbon stainless, which means that they take and hold a nice edge, but can potentially develop a rust sweat if handled improperly. They can be put in the dishwasher, but remove promptly and dry off. A+
Cons ... I'm not a big fan of the silk screened "Emeril" on the blade, and don't really care for the Wustof medallion on the handle either. Minor annoyances. And the wife isn't crazy about the fact that they don't really match ANY of the other cutlery on the table (formal or casual) ... They aren't even the same length as conventional cutlery. But hey, these are STEAK KNIVES!! They have one purpose in life ... to cut steak. I won't even use them to cut chicken (even GRILLED chicken).

I have had these knives for over 6 months now. They do what they advertise - cut, but I've had some problems with them as well.
1) I TOLD my husband we should hand wash them, but he threw them in the dishwasher anyways and they rusted a little after sitting in the dishwasher overnight (I was able to scrub the rust off, it was superficial). However, steel is not supposed to rust (Hence the "stainless" part...right?) So I was a little confused about that.
2) Last week as I was cutting into a rather frozen Quorn 'roast', the tip of one of the knives broke off into the food and I had to dig it out with a lot of effort. To be fair, the 'roast' was very hard and frozen...but I was surprised at that, too.
Other then those two issues, I don't mind these knives. I wish they came with a knife block, and I wish they didn't rust (?) but I still use them everyday -- even the one without a tip!

I love these knives, they make everything just like cutting warm butter. I was very surprised at how quickly they arrived, I didn't expect them before Christmas. But they arrived just in time for our feast and it was wonderful. It is so nice to be able to have knives that really work like they advertise.
